Kate Bush is ok, but Maxwell Made this song one of the best. People don't really care about what the song is about, they just love the fact that the song is great and it sounds amazing. So take a seat buddy. Listen to the difference between Kate and Maxwell. And maybe maxwell went through the same exact thing as Kate. Ever think of that????

Jul 28, 2010 - I don't wish to inflame more arguments. However, as good as this version is, it is actually impossible for it to be sung with more meaning than Kate Bush, because SHE WROTE IT!! That is a no brainer. Exceptional performance from Maxwell. Oddly though, it's his high end, female range that probably stopped him being as successful as he could have been.

Jul 29, 2010 - @andyrooireland I actually think Maxwell, as a male, brought a fresh and interesting perspective to the song which transformed its meaning into something new. That is as much credit to Kate Bush (for writing such a complex and rich song) as it is to him (taking a novel step an interpreting it from a male perspective). I don't see why he should have to sing the lyrics according to the background of the song as dictated by Kate. I find Maxwell's take intriguing. I hear she loves it btw.

Especially in instances like this where the interpretations are from totally different perspectives. It's a great cover, I think. And a 'cover' it is, so all credit to Kate. I also don't think his cover was just an exercise in vocal range. The falsetto adds to the delicacy of the interpretation and the moving between notes is just his style. He's hardly doing an Aguilera-type show off.
